A fire door from Bowater Doors proved its worth at a recent blaze in Birmingham in which the walls were so hot they glowed and yet the door remained in one piece – only requiring new intumescent seals by way of repair. The fire at the eight storey block of flats in Longbridge was caused by water flooding into the switchgear room from a third storey flat and so triggering an explosion so violent that it destroyed the mains cable. Decent Homes programme has replaced windows and doors across Birmingham

As part of a huge project all across Birmingham, Bowater Projects has replaced PVC-U windows and doors in a large number of properties. This huge project is part of the Decent Homes programme.
