VEKA plc's Outstanding Contribution

VEKA plc has won one of the main awards at Burnley's recent celebration of Business and Innovation.

The company received the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Burnley’ award for a remarkable year in which VEKA has both celebrated its 25th year of manufacturing in the town and completed the largest deal of its kind, with acquisition of Midlands-based Bowater Building Products.

VEKA Sales and Marketing Director Colin Torley explains: “2011 has been a big year for VEKA so far and it's always nice to be appreciated for our efforts. The company has gone from strength to strength in the last 25 years, growing from 30 to 160 employees and expanding the site from 30,000 to almost 400,000 square feet. VEKA is one of Burnley's major employers and we have always tried to support the local community while staying at the forefront of our industry, and it's very nice to be recognised for this.”
