Every style of Bowaters Composite Door, whether single or double rebate, complies with the latest Building Regulations - achieving a U Value of 1.6 or less, with many styles achieving just 1.0.
Not only this, but every Bowater Composite Door is supplied with a bespoke U Value Certificate that is unique to the exact combination of door style and glazing for you to pass to your customer. A summary of the latest Building Regulations in regard to requirements for doors can be found below:
Changes to the Approved Document L of the Building Regulations in England and Wales came into force on 1st October 2010 and stipulate that doors must have a combined U value of 1.8 W/m²K - there is no equivalent to the WER rating bands for doors.
Similar changes to Section 6 of the Scottish Technical Domestic Handbook stipulate that doors must have a combined U value of 1.6 W/m²K. Just as with England and Wales there is also no equivalent to the WER rating bands for doors in Scotland.
The U Value of each & every style of Bowater Composite Door not only meets, but exceeds these standards - ensuring that a home with a Bowater Composite Door not only looks great, but is well protected from the worst of the elements.
This is a very exciting part of Bowater Doors’ plans moving forward and we hope you will enjoy using the new system and if you want to ask any questions, our support team will be glad to assist.
