Industry-leading profile manufacturer VEKA plc has become the first systems company to register on the newly introduced Door Energy Ratings scheme for doors.
In the biggest extension of the BFRC scheme since 2006, September has seen the energy ratings labelling system extend to include all types of domestic doors, including composite and PVC-U.
VEKA is well-known for being at the forefront of environmental developments, having been the first to establish a closed-loop recycling facility, the first to develop an 'A' rated window and the first recycled profile to go into a domestic window.
Colin Torley, VEKA Sales and Marketing Director explains: “Here at VEKA, we put a lot of work into making our door systems as energy-efficient as possible, so the extension of the BFRC scheme offers us another chance to show how confident we are in the quality of our products.
“The VEKA Composite Door System, in particular, has gone through rigourous testing and further development and now the majority of doors in the range achieve a U-value of 1.2 or less, with some even gaining an impressive 1.0.”
We felt it was important to register for the new DER Scheme right away as we understand that energy ratings are a great sales tool for our customers when dealing with the public.
